Your dreams can become reality because a number of limited apartments at Astor House are being offered on a Fractional Ownership basis. This means that you will share actual ownership of your apartment with up to only nine other people so all the costs of running your holiday home will be equally shared.
You will be able to stay in your apartment for 5 weeks each year. This means that you and your co-owners all have equally fair access to the apartment. Likewise all the running costs will be sorted out by a management company and will be equally divided amongst you.
Everything relating to running and maintaining your apartment will be taken care of for you so that you are completely free to enjoy every moment you spend at Astor House.
Fractional Ownership - How it works
It is probably best to firstly say what Fractional Ownership is not. It is not timeshare. Timeshare means exactly what it says. You are buying shared time in a property - that is all. You never actually own any of it and you licence to use the property will probably be for quite a short number of years - perhaps about 30.
With Fractional Ownership, you actually own a fraction, or share, of the property itself. In this case a tenth. This means that you can stay in your apartment for 5 weeks each year. You, and your descendants, will be able to do this for the next 199 years and beyond. You can treat it exactly as you would any other property. You can therefore sell it or pass it on to another owner at any time. Although once you have enjoyed the experience of owning a second home at Astor House we very much doubt that you will want to.
Fractional Ownership is relatively new to the UK market, but it is extremely popular and established in the USA, Caribbean and the rest of Europe, where the first schemes were started over 20 years ago.
